While he’s been honored at the American Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year ceremony, and received that same title from the Austin Bar, as well as having been nominated for the Austin Under 40 award and declared a “Rising Star” by Texas Monthly, David Gonzalez doesn’t like seeing his list of awards. He keeps his focus fixed firmly on more practical goals: How best to serve his clients as an attorney, and how to make the system treat people more fairly through legislative work with the Texas Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association.
